Well where do I start!

Thank you, especially to Gadge and the team that made the event possible and for looking after me at the event.

I was a little sceptical prior to the games, and this is, as I expected, the traditional re-enactment roots showing, if this makes any sense at all!

When the leaves above my head, started pinging, followed by the wood in the trees, then the steel twang as my helmet lit up, I knew that I was in for a great day. To be taken back to my teenage years really got the adrenaline pumping, this is about as much fun as you can have, with your clothes on!

I just hope that I didn't let my side down too much being a newbie to airsoft, but with some great tips, equipment loaning and words of encouragement, It was good to see that everyone had a great day out.

Just a big thanks really to everyone that I met at the weekend.

I nearly forgot, Evo, making us walk the long way on your tour of the battlefield upon the completion of a mission, was a little risky and I have reported you to high command for the extra risk, you put your personal bodyguard under, I was, and not afraid to admit it, scared of the American who decimated our patrol earlier that day with just a pistol, finding us!

I think I may join you all again at some point this year for another match!

Thanks again

Stuart

It's funny how your own perception can be at odds with what's happening in the Big Picture. I thought that FJR-13 did an outstanding job in holding our objectives and repelling the yank attacks all morning. The stream of helmet-off GI's put me under the impression that we were kicking ass up until lunchtime. Oh well...

One of my best moments was manning the MG-42 with Boshman at the crossroads. With the amount of well-placed fire coming in it was only a matter of time before we were toast, but even after we'd both expired it was a good five minutes before any GIs had the cojones to actually occupy out position - a testament to how scary the '42 is (it was scary firing it, let alone being on the other end). It also gave me the chance to see just how well trained the enemy were. Proper squad tactics, proper NCO leadership and a real cohesive unit structure. Good job fellas :good:

...and not a comms unit to be seen....

very true martin, it was my first time organizing a game, not just playing as such, so could see the whole picture, not just the microcosm of what was happening in my little 20foot diametre world. it was a different. its a lot harder than you think to ignore the 3 enemy you can see 30yrds away and try and stay on task..... not just give in to instinct and want to engage them.

For me it was yet another outstanding event by the PBI team. planning and execution was superb and the day flowed along super smoothly, from each mission to the next with no milling around or delays. The site was so different compared to the lightening game and absolutely perfect bocage country. As ever, fantastic levels of play from both sides, and I have to agree with B&H that the Americans showed some exception squad cohesion and control, I was really genuinely impressed :good:

My new MG42 behaved impecably all day so I was rather cuffed with that, and although I stuggled in the morning to be effective with it in the long grass, in the hands of my brother in the afternoon I think it gave the yanks a really hard time, It certainly gave my back and shoulders a hard time and I only carried it for half the day  :ghey:

So thanks to everyone involved, both the organisers and all my fellow team mates and opponents, for yet another cracking day of WW2 airsofting. 8)

Me, Beds and Lardass were attacked by the SS too. Ferrocious it was. Good job non of the hundreds of rounds plinging off the hardcover hit us. When we finally established communication, the SS comander asked us if we needed any medical attention

The best bit was even when I shouted at them in German they responded by opening fire on me (I was hidden in the hedge whilst Carl and Angel's cover took a pasting). I think we were offered medical attention as they thought they'd hit one of use because of all the shouting we were doing to try and stop them shooting. :slap:
